Step 3: Go to your employer’s corporate match portal (check with HR if you’re unsure how to get there). Typically you will need to provide the following information to your employer:
- Copy of receipt (example above. Or email johnbaldwin.edfundregistrar@srvef.org to obtain a copy).
- Tax ID: # 68-0432593 (this is the most critical information to search for!)
- Organization Name: “San Ramon Valley Education Foundation”. You might also see “John Baldwin Cougar Education Fund, San Ramon Valley Education Foundation”. The most important element to get right is the Tax ID # 68-0432593.
- Address: 741 Brookside Drive, Danville, CA, 94526
- Email: johnbaldwin.edfundmatching@srvef.org
Step 4: Don’t give up! If you’re having issues, please email johnbaldwin.edfundmatching@srvef.org. This is free money to support John Baldwin’s vital programs, so let’s get it!
Some things to keep in mind:
- If both parents' employers match, you can submit the same donation to each company for a match. That is an amazing opportunity to essentially triple your donation!
- There are typically submission deadlines for matching requests. Usually, that means:
- Within a set number of months (usually 3 or 6)
- By the end of the calendar year
- By the end of the calendar year with a 1-2 months grace period
- So…the earlier…the better!
- Some companies will only match your donations if they are submitted via your company first ... not directly to the school. Ideally, check your company's matching donation procedure before making your donation.
